I would appreciate any help regarding a problem I have with the "Mass Properties" Tool. All the other tools work OK but selecting the "Mass Properties" option does not show any property box????

Hey Tony,

I don't have SWX2006 but I know that there are issues if you try to calculate the mass of e.g.
an assembly with lightweight components…
Its weird that the box is not displayed at all though. This happens with all parts not just with
one particular? Have you tried to repair the installation and have you checked you are using
a certified driver (basic questions I know wink.gif)

I have honestly no idea what could cause this I would suggest a reinstallation…

Cheers,
Annika

This happens with all parts. I even made a simple rectangular box as a test.

I have tried doing a repair etc but to no avail. I guess a reinstall may be the answer.

One thing you should try before reinstalling is to set the registry to default to see if maybe a
registry corruption during the installation caused the problem:

Make sure SolidWorks is closed before you follow the steps below.

1. Open your system registry by going to Start > Run > type regedit and hit Enter
2. Locate the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks folder
3. Right-click on the SolidWorks folder and select rename
4. Rename the folder to SolidWorks_old
5. Start SolidWorks and it will start with the default settings.
6. Try to reproduce the problem

To restore your custom settings close SolidWorks, hit F5 to refresh the registry editor if it is still open, rename the newly created "SolidWorks" folder to "SolidWorks_new" then rename "SolidWorks_old" back to "SolidWorks." Now when you start SolidWorks it will start with your custom settings.

Caution:
Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on your computer.

If this does not work either, my only advise would be a reinstallation I am afraid...
