Has anyone have tried working on Nitinol?? I have a problem getting unloading curve for stress-strain.

I try with force control system, to get a simple stress-strain curve when u pull a solid wire (cylindrical shape)with the input of force (on top) vs time curve & restrained the bottom but the stress & strain is same in both loading and unloading which shouldn't be write in case of nitinol.
Am I missing somewhere? I know this can also be done by displacement control system.
