SolidWorks Sustainability products help the design community better understand the ecological impact of its work and make more environmentally friendly design choices. Our program is built around core capabilities that are as easy to use as they are comprehensive.
Based on LCA knowledge, SolidWorks Sustainability looks at everything that happens from the raw Material Extraction to the End of Life of the products.
Your students will become more environmentally conscious through design. They will also learn how material selection and the manufacturing process affect the environment.
SolidWorks Sustainability shows, in detail and in real time, the impact on the environment of product as well as the one of decisions which bring their creation. It is the only software integrating CAD to provide a comprehensive view of the environmental impact. For example, its analysis takes into account the place where the product will be manufactured and used. This allows to define environmental factors such as: where and how the raw material is mined, the transportation and energy production impacts (nuclear, hydro, etc. ), as well as the energy consumption.
SolidWorks Sustainability products can take individual part models and automatically show how “like” materials compare to the original material you selected in terms of environmental impact. This helps you to hone in on the perfect material more efficiently. SolidWorks Sustainability generates customized reports showing sustainability data, complete with your contact information and company branding.
SolidWorks SustainabilityXpress is a CAD Feature to start looking at environmental impact for Parts.
